Gmelius is a collaboration layer that runs inside Gmail. It turns shared addresses into team inboxes with assignment, shared labels, automation rules and SLA tracking, without asking anyone to leave Gmail. It also offers AI assistants, including Meli, a personal assistant that drafts and sorts email.
After installing Gmelius in Google Workspace, shared inboxes appear in the Gmail sidebar. Team members see who owns each email, add notes, and change status without forwarding. Rules route new emails to the right person, and analytics show response times and workload. On Pro, dispatching assistants handle routing at scale, and backups protect Gmail and Drive data.
Meli is for one person’s inbox, not teamwork. Teams that share inboxes start on Growth. Move to Pro only if you need CRM integrations, webhooks, granular permissions or backups. Monthly prices are higher than the annual rates, so annual billing makes sense once you’ve finished the trial.
Start with one shared address, such as support@, and invite only the people who answer it. Create statuses that match your process, such as open, waiting on customer and closed, and a rule that assigns new emails by round robin or by keyword. Set an SLA target for first response, and check the analytics weekly to see whether the team is meeting it.
Gmelius suits Google Workspace teams that want shared-inbox control inside Gmail. Compare Drag for a board-style Gmail workflow, or Missive if part of the team uses other email providers.
